Expanse

Azure vastness at my feet
Coaxing me to crave
Scarcely enough to tempt
Scantily enough to stay

Tempt me
Wet me
Soak me
In your lapping trance
Take me back to simpler days
When fear was scarce
And pleasure had a chance

Flirt, lick, kick, retreat

How many feet have you charmed
With the spell of your weave
Do they frolic without purpose
Or like terns aim to deceive?

And what of the cloth you tame
Into abject syncopation
Does it reciprocate in kind
Or sever your relation?

Give me a sign, Divine One
Cerulean Mother of Earth
If only a paltry frame
Or frozen slice of dearth

For I long to be enraptured
in the years that ensue
Heart and soul protected
Within the expanse of you.

Feeling grateful for friends who became willing participants in the intercontinental travel experience I currently share with my husband. The beach house they kindly offered to us just produced the first poem I have penned in over five weeks. Thanks, D & M, for reacquainting me with my paramour.
